In today's world, having your own website is a must. No matter what you do in life or what your career is, a website can be an asset to you. There is the option of having a business online or just keeping up with friends or family. You may not know how to create a website or you may be concerned about the cost of a website. Actually, you can build your own free website.
Now that you know you can create a website for free, you can save your money for something else in life.
Before you begin creating your free website, write down some reasons why you want to build one. Do you just want a more central way to connect with family and friends with a personal website. Or do you have higher aspirations and want to build a successful business online. Your free website can serve several purposes. You may want to have a family album where everyone can go and see your pictures and read about your life. Maybe you are a professional photographer, interior designer, or closet organizer, in that case you would want to show case some of your work online. In either case, your free website can be simple or very elaborate.
In times past, with the free website builders, you were very limited to the functions you could add to your website. That is not true today. With the many free website creators available today, you can create a website with all sorts of bells and whistles and even change the look from time to time.
There are basically two different types of software that you can use to create the design and function of your free website. One is the type that you download to your own computer. The other is a browser type that you can access with any computer and internet connection.
Most people, including myself, prefer the browser type of software. The main advantage of this type of free website builder is that you have more freedom of access to it. You can access this anywhere that you have internet access and a computer, of course. They are designed very user friendly so that even a beginner can build a free website. You can upload photos or media with a click of a few buttons. There are other simple to use features built in such as the drag and drop feature so you can change the whole layout of your website.
There are as many different types of websites as there are people that build them. Some websites that may include photos will allow you to add captions to make them seem to come alive. Others can have a moving slide show to show case photos of even your best work online. You can build a simple website for free or it can be a very seemingly complicated one. Just put your own touch and personality into it.
Many corporations are now using free website builders instead of hiring outside help to build their corporate websites. With so much available that you can add to the website, it can have the look of a professional designer. No one would ever know you built it for free.
Another type of free website is called blogging. You can also do this for free. Blogging is a fun way to build a business or just to keep in touch with people. Blogs are very simple to do and anyone can do it. You can make it look very professional with the availability of various templates. Blogging is basically an online journal.
Today's free website builders allow you to upload various types of photos and you can edit them online. You can add various types of media including videos and mp3's. This feature wasn't available with the free website creators of the past, but times have changed and are constantly changing. You can probably do more now than what was even available when I started writing this article.
Another neat feature that is available on some free website builders is the ability to create an online stores where people can shop and purchase from your website. This feature is not available on all free website creators, so if this is something that is important to you, then shop around.
All these incredible features make it so much easier today to build your own free website. It is also a great deal. You will be amazed how much you will learn and how much fun you will have doing it.
